Bear's Best Golf Course a must play in Las Vegas

Hello Golfers world wide... This is U.H. (Uncle Harry), a 13 handicapper writing about a great golf course that I played on April 17th. I am describing a golf course that is a MUST play if you are coming to Las Vegas. The course is "Bear's Best Golf Club", designed by the Bear himself, Jack Nicklaus.

From all over the world, Jack Nicklaus has selected some of the best holes he's designed and incorporated into Bear's Best Golf Course. Imagine playing the best of Jack Nicklaus' designs all in one golf course, right here in Las Vegas!

Each hole has 4 sets of tees, gold (tips), blue, white and red. The first hole is a replica of PGA West Private, it is a 370 yard par 4 (yardages given here are from the blue tees) . It is a slight dog leg left to an elevated green, with a lake bordering the left side of the fairway. The landing area is generous but also has fairway bunkers that you must take into consideration. The green is large,undulating and slick. You should practice putting before your round as the practice green speed mirror the speed of the greens.

A par 5 hole number 8, plays to 552 yards named "Castle Pines." The fairway is down hill with a canyon dividing the fairway. Your second shot should fly the canyon to lower elevation fairway, leaving a nice approach shot to a large green with the ever present bunker guarding a portion of the green. The hole is rated at a 17 handicap making it a fun hole.

The fairway rough is lined with pine trees which can stymie your second shot if you happen to miss the fairway.

Hole 18 par 4, 439 yards named PGA West Resort is a wonderful hole. The right side of the fairway is paralleled all the way to the green by a lake, with the lake fronting the green. The slight dogleg right is a sloping fairway to the right which gives your tee shot extra roll.

This is just three holes described in this article, but you will find Bear's Best a great golf experience. The fairways and greens are in great shape, overall condition of this Jack Nicklaus designed course is superb. As you would expect the staff is friendly and professional.

A caddie is provided for each foursome.The caddies are knowledgeable and they know how each putt will break., ask for advice if there is doubt in your mind.
