They are also \u003Cstrong>less precise about distance\u003C\u002Fstrong>. A hot face that protects your mishits also means a slightly thin strike may fly nearly as far as a pure one. That’s brilliant for a golfer who misses the centre often. It is genuinely unhelpful for a golfer who wants to know that a well-struck 8-iron goes exactly 150 yards and a poor one comes up short.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Better players want that information. If you are a 7-handicap who strikes their 8-iron beautifully and their 4-iron inconsistently, the right answer is often \u003Cstrong>both\u003C\u002Fstrong> — which is exactly what combo sets are for.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Ch3>Distance is not the deciding factor\u003C\u002Fh3>\n\u003Cp>If you test these head to head, the players distance model will almost certainly go further. Ignore that. It has stronger lofts.
